Our Mission

Jacob’s Well Ministries Charter:

We do this day, May 18, 2005, hereby found and form by the Grace, Presence, and Power of God Almighty through the shed blood of His Son Christ Jesus and the Person of His Holy Spirit the ministry known as Jacob’s Well Ministries, Inc. We hereby found and form this ministry based upon the calling of God as it has been revealed to us through the power of His Word in Isaiah 61:1-3 which reveals to us that “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on us because the Lord has anointed us” to complete the following eight commands:

• Command I - “to preach good news to the poor”
  We are called to preach, teach and share the good news that men and women can be healed once and for all and forever from the bondage and oppression of the consequences of a life of sin. This good news will be shared with those in residence in this ministry by a consistent and constant washing in the Word of God. This washing will be done daily by the leadership of Jacob’s Well Ministries as well as by approved and capable pastors, preachers and evangelist who volunteer their time to minister to the residents of our program.

• Command II – “to bind up the broken hearted”
  Those who come to our ministry for help in escaping the consequences of sinful and degrading behaviors have almost always broken covenant relationships not only with the significant people in their lives but more importantly with God Himself. The result of that breaking of covenant relationship is shame, helplessness, hopelessness and despair. We stand along side those brokenhearted by their sin and misbehavior to encourage them and lift them up in the knowledge that through Christ Jesus they WILL be forgiven. And in trusting and seeking Him only, ALL things will be restored that the devil has tried to steal from them and their families. We are able to do this through the power of our own personal testimony of how Christ has restored each of the lives and families of those who make up the staff of this ministry.

• Command III – “proclaim freedom for the captives”
  Those who find themselves caught up in the consequences of a life of sin have become captives of the wiles of Satan who is bent upon their destruction. We are called to bring to each of those who reach out to this ministry for help the truth that the forces of evil operating in the heavenly realms have no authority over them if they are the blood bought property of Christ Jesus; and we teach them through God’s Word how to free themselves from the captivation of sinful behaviors. We are called to teach them how to “take every thought captive for Christ.”

• Command IV – “release from darkness the prisoners”
  The bondage sinful living often leads men and women into behaviors that are not only shameful but also illegal resulting in judicial action and incarceration. We are led by God’s word to intercede on behalf of those caught up in these consequences to be an alternative to prison. We are called to work with law enforcement, the judicial system and all state correctional organizations to offer them a Christ driven solution to the problem.

• Command V – “to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God”
  We are called to share with those God delivers into our care that they are at a place in their life, under a special calling of God, to enter into His favor. That by obeying and trusting Him while they are in the care of Christ at Jacob’s Well Ministries, God is prepared and ready to heal them and the significant people in there lives from the suffering and consequences of their past life. And that He is further ready to avenge the devil concerning what has been stolen from them and restore to them “all the locusts have eaten.”

• Command VI – “to comfort all who mourn”
  For every person who has been caught up in the personal destruction of sinful living, there are many others who love them and are significant to them as well. Those family members and friends of “the lost” are deeply wounded and broken because of what is happening to the one they love. Many of them have come to the point of hopelessness and helplessness. We are here by God’s command to comfort and encourage them also. We are here to share the good news with them that through Christ Jesus, their loved one who is caught up in a destructive lifestyle as well as their entire family CAN be healed and reconciled through the promised healing power of Christ.

• Command VII – “provide for those who grieve”
  We are called by God to instill into the hearts, minds, souls and spirits of those placed in our care the provisions offered in God’s word that will prepare them to go back into the world and successfully stand against those things that come against them to pull them back down and destroy them. We equip them with the power of God’s Word and the knowledge of truth from many living testimonies they hear, that they can through Christ Jesus be free once and for all and forever from a life of destructive sinful behavior.

• Command VIII – “bestow a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair”
  We are called to do everything in the power given us through the Holy Spirit of God to insure that men, women and their families who come to Jacob’s Well Ministries through the divine providence of God leave humbled, repentant, saved, baptized, filled with the Spirit, healed of their destructive and sinful behaviors, reconciled to their families and the significant people in their lives and fully equipped through the power of God’s word to face the issues of life head on in success and victory.
  

As a result of our obedience to His commands, God’s promise to our ministry and our residents is: “and they will be called a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”
