Jacob’s Well Recovery Center For Women
The Ultimate encounter with the Ultimate healer…-
A Word from Pastor Charlie and Mrs. Pam
Posted on May 16th, 2010 No commentsMy wife Pam and I have just recently celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary. As the day of celebration approached we began the same conversation that we have had over the past few Christmases, birthdays and the like about what each of us would like as a gift to celebrate the occasion. Lately the conversation has become the same each time: “Honey, I don’t want anything. I have all I could ever want.” When I think back to the misery of those years when I lived in the world and for the world, chasing after material wealth power and position and compare it to how awesome it is to live for Christ and serve only Him, I am overwhelmed by the since of satisfaction I feel today. It’s a shame it took me so long to learn a very valuable life lesson: Not only is money not everything; it isn’t much of anything compared to what God can provide. What is worth to watch a gifted, intelligent talented woman who is somebody’s mom or sister or daughter or wife caught up in a destructive life of drug and alcohol addiction and all the things that go with it completely delivered from that life. What is it worth to see the light of hope in her eyes when God begins to put back together the relationships she had thrown away. What is it worth to see DHS give her back custody of her children and her family welcome her home.
ITS PRICELESS!And thanks to you, we get to watch it every day. -
Blessed Beyond Human Imagination!!!!
Posted on May 16th, 2010 No commentsDo you believe in miracles?
If you have been praying for the growth and success of Jacobs Well Ministries; shopping or donating at one of our three thrift stores located in Picayune, Poplarville or Purvis; listening to our worship services on radio, television or the internet; coming to our worship center on South Haugh or participating in some way at our Christ-centered addiction recovery center for women then you have been part of a MIRACLE. In four short years God has increased our little ministry from one little 80×16 mobile home which housed two directors and five residents and a modest thrift store to what we have today. Today through God’s blessings and your support we now have a beautiful 10 acre complex with room for thirty women residents and eight staff , three very successful thrift stores and a powerful evangelistic outreach on radio, TV and the internet. Isn’t God great!
In our four years of service to not only this community but to adjacent cities and states as well, we have taken in over three hundred broken women and their families to help them escape the destruction of addiction and regain their rightful place in society as great mothers, daughters, sisters and wives.
Time and time again we have watched God heal what was diseased, give back what was thrown away and restore what was taken from the Women of Jacob’s Well Recovery Center.
Without your prayers and support it would not have been impossible.
Thank You! -
A Word From Pastor Charlie Haynes and Mrs. Pam
Posted on May 16th, 2010 No commentsPam and I wanted to take the time this month to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the support you have given Jacob’s Well Thrift Stores since we started them back in July of 2005. God placed it on our hearts when we came to Pearl River County to begin our ministry that He would not only provide for the needs of our recovery center for women but would allow the stores to become a blessing to the residents of this community as well. Jacob’s Well Thrift Stores were founded to accomplish four things in this order: *Lift up the name of Christ Jesus by establishing Bible Book Shops in each of our stores as you enter them. *Meeting the needs of those who are truly down and out. *Using our thrift stores as a learning environment for the women of Jacob’s Well where they can gain experience working in a retail setting and also learn to work along side each other “as unto the Lord.” {When you shop Jacob’s Well you actually get to meet the girls you help} *And finally we hope to be able to sell you something that saves you money and helps us effectively operate our ministry. We are always looking for ways to create new types of industry for our girls and that is why in addition to our resale department like clothing, shoes, purses, electronics, appliances, domestics and children’s, we now have new mattress sets, custom monogramming, and NOW a custom made jewelry boutique in our store. We have always boasted that Jacobs Well is “Way more than a Thrift Store” We pray that you have found that true every time you visit us.

A Word from The Pastor
Posted on May 16th, 2010 No commentsI remember back in 2005 when our recovery center consisted of one 80×16 modular home sitting on eight acres of farm country. Pam and I had made our home in the end of the modular with the master bedroom and bath and in the other end which contained two more bedrooms and a bath were the five young women we had taken in to start Jacob’s Well Recovery Center. At meal times we ate together in the small dining room kitchen area and on Sunday and other worship times I would set my Pulpit in the kitchen and preach to the girls who assembled in the adjacent living room. As walk into our beautiful new Worship center which will easily seat two hundred people I thank God for the journey. Our worship is centered around our residents and their families but God has prompted us to open it to the public. Why? Because the messages that God lays on the hearts of those who minister here is a message designed to reach people with real problems and real struggles in life. Our teachings are VERY straight forward and hard hitting. Our messages don’t just tech you the word straight forwardly and fearlessly but also the teach you how to APPLY God’s Word to your everyday life. I want to offer you my personal invitation to come to our Worship Center and worship with us in person. I guarantee you that you will not leave the same way you came in. Our services start at 10:00 am each Sunday morning. We are saving you a seat !

Posted on June 29th, 2009 No commentsFour years ago this month Pam and I came to Pearl River County, Ms. with no money in our pocket and a vision in our heart to begin the work which is now known as Jacob’s Well Ministries. Our intention was to establish a six month resident, Christ centered drug and alcohol recovery center for women. It is exciting to think of our humble beginnings when Pam and I first moved into a 24 foot camper trailer located on the “clean up” slab behind Paw Paw’s Camper City located in Picayune, Ms.
Because we had a willing Spirit, God has poured out his unending blessings on our ministry. Since then we have gone from that little camper to a beautiful farm house on 8 acres near the little community of Millard {just south of Poplarville}, to a 4800 square foot dormitory complex of modular homes, to beautiful 7000 square foot permanent dorm facility located on 10 acres of farmland complete with an activity center, a maintence barn and swimming pool.
Our modest little Thrift Store operation started to help fund our ministry has now expanded to three locations: one in Picayune, one in Poplarville and another in Purvis. Our recovery program has already ministered to 223 women and their families. We have witnessed over and over again the awesome healing power of Christ as we saw women who entered our program not only set free for drugs and alcohol and all the destructive behaviors that go with it, but we have seen their marriages saved, their children returned to their custody and their families restored back to them. We have seen MANY saved, baptized and returned to society as productive and useful citizens filled with a renewed hope about their future.
When we were meeting to worship together in the early days, first in the living room of the old farm house, then in the 40′x40′ space we created in one of our modulars we had no idea that God would take those humble beginnings and turn them into a powerful Evangelistic work. Now we worship in our brand new 250 seat Worship Center {open to public worship} located in downtown Picayune and our services are now broadcast remarkably each Sunday on broadcast and cable television on WPXL – New Orleans, WHLT – Laurel/Hattiesburg, on radio at WAOY 91.7 FM Gulfport as well as WMER 1390AM in Meridian, Ms and finally on the internet at our website: www.jacobswellrecoverycenter.com.
Is God good or WHAT?In closing I want to invite you to to find out more about what God is doing at Jacobs Well. Check out our website mentioned above ; come see us at one of our thrift stores; tune in to our Sunday worship services in you area; come worship with us in person at Jacob’s Well Community Worship Center located at 1299 South Haugh Street in Picayune, Ms. If you want you can call and talk to me directly at 601-463-0022. Finally would you please pray earnestly and often for the success of Jacob’s Well Ministries – we sincerely covet the prayers of others.
May God Bless You and your family richly in the days and years to come!
Pastor Charlie Haynes
