A Word from Pastor Charlie and Mrs. Pam
Posted on May 16th, 2010 No commentsMy wife Pam and I have just recently celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary. As the day of celebration approached we began the same conversation that we have had over the past few Christmases, birthdays and the like about what each of us would like as a gift to celebrate the occasion. Lately the conversation has become the same each time: “Honey, I don’t want anything. I have all I could ever want.” When I think back to the misery of those years when I lived in the world and for the world, chasing after material wealth power and position and compare it to how awesome it is to live for Christ and serve only Him, I am overwhelmed by the since of satisfaction I feel today. It’s a shame it took me so long to learn a very valuable life lesson: Not only is money not everything; it isn’t much of anything compared to what God can provide. What is worth to watch a gifted, intelligent talented woman who is somebody’s mom or sister or daughter or wife caught up in a destructive life of drug and alcohol addiction and all the things that go with it completely delivered from that life. What is it worth to see the light of hope in her eyes when God begins to put back together the relationships she had thrown away. What is it worth to see DHS give her back custody of her children and her family welcome her home.
ITS PRICELESS!And thanks to you, we get to watch it every day.
